In short

A dueling piano show is an all-request performance where two piano players take song requests from the audience, trade off, and keep the crowd singing along. Onstage books dueling piano shows for corporate parties, holiday parties, fundraisers, and country club nights from a roster of 1,500+ vetted performers. Onstage is based in Phoenix, has booked entertainment since 2011, and books nationwide.

The show

How does a dueling piano show work?

Two piano players sit across from each other and play songs your guests request, from classic rock to current hits. They sing, swap leads, cut each other off, and work the crowd between songs. The set list comes from the room, so no two shows are the same.

Guests send requests during the show, and the players read the room to decide what comes next. Singalongs, birthday and work-anniversary call-outs, and a guest pulled up to the piano are all part of the format.

Why it works

Why do companies book dueling pianos for a party?

Everyone takes part

Guests who would never dance still shout requests and sing along. The show works for mixed ages and mixed departments.

Built around your group

Players can call out names, milestones, and inside jokes you send ahead, so the show feels made for your team.

Fits rooms a band can't

Two pianos take less space and less volume than a full band, which suits many club rooms, restaurants, and private spaces.

Events

What events suit a dueling piano show?

Company parties

Team celebrations, client nights, and sales kickoffs where you want the whole room involved, not just the dance floor.

Holiday parties

Guest requests turn the night into a holiday singalong, with seasonal songs mixed in alongside the year'sGuest requests turn the night into a holiday singalong, and the players can roast the year your team just had.nbsp;hits.

Fundraisers

Requests can be turned into a donation round, with guests giving to hear a song or to stop one. Plan it with your committee and the players.

Country club nights

Member socials and holiday evenings where the club wants a lively night without a full band setup.

What does a dueling piano show need from your venue?

Space for two pianos

Room for two instruments facing each other, ideally on a stage or riser where every table can see them.

Power & sound

Power near the stage and a sound system sized for the room. We confirm in writing whether the show brings its own keyboards and sound or uses the venue's piano and AV.

Frequently asked questions.

Is a dueling piano show appropriate for a work crowd? expand_more
It can be as clean as you need. Tell us the content level when you book, and Onstage briefs the players so the humor and song choices fit a corporate or member audience.
Can the piano players mention our company, people, and inside jokes? expand_more
Yes. Send names, milestones, and a few inside jokes ahead of time and the players work them into the show. Retirement call-outs, sales wins, and work-anniversary shout-outs land well.
Does our venue need to have pianos for a dueling piano show? expand_more
Not necessarily. Some venues have a piano and AV the show can use, and in other rooms the players bring their own instruments and sound. Onstage confirms in writing what the show brings and what the venue supplies.
Can dueling pianos help raise money at a fundraiser? expand_more
Yes. The request format turns easily into a donation round, where guests give to hear a song, to stop one, or to put a friend on the spot. Plan it ahead with your committee so the players know how to run it.
When should we book dueling pianos for a December holiday party? expand_more
Book between mid-September and mid-November, when most December dates are claimed. For a large party or a Friday or Saturday in peak season, 90 to 120 days ahead gives you the most choice.
Do you book dueling pianos outside Scottsdale and Phoenix? expand_more
Yes. Scottsdale and Phoenix are home base, but the shows we book travel. For a party in another Arizona city or another state, Onstage arranges the players' travel and confirms the setup with your venue before you sign.
