Band types

What kind of band is right for a corporate party?

Dance & variety bands

Five to ten pieces playing hits across several decades. The usual choice when the night ends with dancing.

Cover bands

Bands built around one era or style, such as 80s, yacht rock, Motown, or classic rock, for a party with a clear theme.

Show bands with horns

Larger bands with a horn section and featured vocalists or dancers for a gala or a big company celebration.

Cocktail trios & quartets

Jazz, acoustic, or light pop at conversation volume for receptions, dinners, and client events.

Band plus DJ

A band for the main dance sets and a DJ for breaks and the late hour, so the floor never goes quiet.

Country & Latin bands

Country, Latin, and other styles for teams and themes that call for them.

Pricing

How much does a corporate party band cost?

A full dance band of 5 to 10 pieces runs $4,500 to $18,000. A 6-piece variety band runs roughly $6,500 to $10,000 in most markets. A 10-piece show band with horns and dancers can pass $20,000. A cocktail trio or quartet runs $1,800 to $5,500.

Price moves with band size, how long they play, the date, travel, and whether sound and lights are included. Friday and Saturday nights in December go first. Our holiday party booking guide breaks down every category and event size.

Sizing

What size band does your party need?

Under 50 guests

One act usually fits better than a full band. A DJ with a strong host or a small acoustic group works in most rooms this size.

75 to 200 guests with dancing

A band, often paired with a DJ, tends to outperform either one alone.

Seated dinner

Keep it to a duo or trio during the meal. Drums and amplification are too much for a plated dinner.

Ballrooms & outdoor events

A larger band plus separate production for sound and lights, planned with your venue and AV team.

Venue

What does a band need from your venue?

Space & power

Floor or stage space for the full band and power close to the performance area.

Load-in & parking

A clear route from the loading area to the stage, plus parking for the band's vehicles.

Sound & lights

Many bands quote with sound included up to a certain room size. We confirm in writing what the band brings and what the venue supplies.

Insurance

Most venues ask entertainment vendors for a certificate of insurance, often at $1 million minimum.

Can the band play during dinner and then for dancing? expand_more
Many bands can play a quieter dinner set and then a dance set. Some parties book a separate trio for dinner and the band for dancing. Onstage plans the set times and the handoff with you.
